It is well known that the International women’s day is the 8th of March.
It has a strong and meaningful menaing in our society, and it affirms and defend the right of the women in the society. It is a day that got us reflect on progress made and celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women, who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
This year, the United Nations announces that the 2021 theme for the International Women’s day will be: “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.”
While also expressing the importance of women as chief of government in a state, it is also important to mention and to remember that, unfortunately, the presence of women in this sector is still too weak.
In more than 200 countries present in the UN, just 20 of them are led by women! These numbers are catastrophic.. however, it represents a huge improvement made in the last few years.
In conclusion, we can say that there is an improvement in the presence of women in the political field, but the path to achieve full equality is still long.
